Das Latin-Classical-Crossover Ensemble „Crossmopolitans“ wurde aus der Idee gegründet, die Grenzen zwischen  klassischer und popularer Musik zu lockern und beide Genres miteinander zu verbinden.

Die drei aus Südamerika stammenden, erstklassig in Wien ausgebildeten und bereits erfolgreichen Musiker haben sich zusammengeschlossen, um mit Freude neue Arrangements zu kreieren.

So interpretieren sie zum Beispiel große Meisterwerke der klassischen Musik neu, indem Sie Rhythmen Ihrer Heimatländer, folkloristische Musik und moderne Musik einfliessen lassen und neue, aufregende Stücke formen.

Mit diesem Vorhaben schaffen Sie es, das Genre „Classical-Crossover“ auf eine vollkommen neue Ebene zu stellen.

The Latin Classical Crossover ensemble „Crossmopolitans“ was founded and based on the idea of building bridges between classical and popular music, linking the two genres together. The three extraordinary South American musicians have joined forces to create unique arrangements with passion and joy. The idea is to reinterpret great masterpieces of classical repertoire by incorporating the rhythms of their home countries, folkloric and modern music, creating a refreshing and exciting new Genre: Latin Classical Crossover.

ALEJANDRO LOGUERCIO, VIOLIN

Celebrated for his musical exuberance and virtuosity, Venezuelan violinist Alejandro Loguercio leads a dynamic performance career as a soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. An avid chamber musician, his is a founding member of the Acros Trio, an energetic Piano Trio that is currently a featured ensemble of the esteemed European Chamber Music Academy. Acros Trio were winners of the 2013 Josef Windisch Chamber Music Prize. He is also a member of the innovative Tango-Comedy Quartet “Garufa!”, as well as a regular performer with Rojotango Ensemble, lead by the Opera-star Baritone Erwin Schrott. In 2016 he also record with the renombred Akordeonist Ksenija Sidorova her “Carmen”-CD for the prestigius “Deutsche Grammophon”, and thereafter, Alejandro Loguercio has been a member of her ensemble as a Solo-Violinist. Now Vienna- based, Alejandro Loguercio is currently the Concertmaster of the Max Steiner Orchestra.

JONATHAN BOLIVAR, GUITAR

Jonathan Bolívar is a guitarist without frontiers. His repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary music, including all Latin-American genres. He plays also his own compositions and arrangements. He performs regularly in some of the most important venues such as the Vienna State Opera, Elbphilharmonie, the Vienna Konzerthaus & Musikverein, among others. He has played in more than twelve countries, from Chile to Poland.

Jonathan’s latest project involves star tenor Juan Diego Flórez, who invited him to collaborate on his new album “Bésame Mucho”, as guitarist, executive producer, arranger & musical advisor.
He graduated from “Conservatorio de Música de Aragua” in Venezuela, his homeland. He got his Master of Arts degree -with distinction- at the University of Music and performing Arts in Vienna- Austria.

LUIS RIBEIRO, PERCUSSION

Luis Ribeiro was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He teaches percussion at the University for Music & Arts in Vienna.
Luis works across several musical genres with such varied artists as: CROSSOVER: Hans Zimmer, Martin Grubinger, Thomas Hampson, Juan Diego Flores, Erwin Schrott, Vienna Symphony Orchestra, Hollywood in Vienna & the Radio Symphony Orchestra, The Vienna Boys Choir, Iugudesman & Joo.
